Inspiration: Soothing details such as peaceful artwork that celebrates nature. |
Inspiration:An inviting and happy room to relax. Surrounded by fresh air, beautiful greenery and the sounds of nature. |
The most important thing I had to consider when planning my room design , is how that space was going to be used. Since I was redesigning a room in a University with 2,190 students, I figured I wanted to design a welcoming room for people to relax, socialize and unwind from everyday stress.
It was important for me to carefully consider furniture, colour scheme, practicality ,mood and atmosphere. All which would contribute to making a restful space.
Colour: I decide that Green was going to be incorporated within my design,as its the colour of life ,nature and harmony . It is often associated with plants. Having a glorious view of nature from floor 3 was impossible. Overall, it has a calming effect by evoking the peace of nature.I also decide to use the colour White as it is often associated with perfection and creates a clean look.
Furniture: My furniture was going to be neatly arranged, to create a clean look. Lamps are going to a essential to illuminate the room . Especially lamps which can be turned up on down to fit the mood. Soft rugs will be found near the entrance to create a soothing vibe. Bean bags will be designed for ultimate comfort providing a casual, friendly air to the room. Lastly, a fire place for a touch of luxury
