3DCP: Measuring Ravennsbuourne/ 3D Model/ Google Sketch-Up

Architects and Interior Designers often rely on 3D modelling to aid their projects, as this enables them to push their ideas closer to reality. Its a quick process, which enables these professionals to reduce inaccuracy and give them the advantage of making any improvements or corrections.
I decided to work in a similar manor and generate my ideas in 3D forms both digitally and by hand.

My google sketch up (a 3D modelling computer program) model was a concept study. It was more satisfying than viewing a 2D drawing and enabled me to navigate within the space to get an understanding of how it could be used.  Overall, it helped me study, visual and understand the space.

Whereas, my presentation model was made from foam board. I created my design directly onto the material considering measurements and aesthetics and cut it relatively quickly with scalpel and a metal ruler. It was easy to re-model and enabled me to see the impact on the overall design when minor and major changes were made. Although it was time consuming it was relatively cheap.
