FASHION: Sketches

I decided to create a few rough and fast sketches. This process enabled me to get my initial ideas on paper whilst being creative using my imagination. Allowing my ideas to involve was enjoyable and separated my concepts from detail.

Influenced by Vivienne Westwood and the concept of modern punk. It has a circular neck created out of cardboard and pointed paper edges for the splits on each side of the dress.
Triangular and pointed dress, influenced by the pop art movement and artists such as Andy Warhol. Incorporating the idea of repeated shapes and patterns.
Distortion created by disc-shaped paper which is wrapped around in a circular manner. It stretches the boundaries and fully embraces the challenge of stepping out of the norm.
Pointy and sharp edges influenced by the Art Deco movement (1920s) and the design of architects/ buildings.
This dress pushes the limits and incorporates non-traditional materials such as layers of scrunched up paper, newsprint and cardboard which have been overlapped. It also breaks the rules of symmetry, as its a bottom heavy dress.
