3DCP: Fixtures & Fittings/Lamp Shade Desginer Research

Lampshades serve as a work of art on their own with numerous designs, shapes, colours and lighting abilities.
With all the lamp shade designers today it is impossible to not find the perfect finishing piece to match your interior.

LULL: A lamp shade which automatically opens and closes depending on the time, similar to a flower. The light intensity gradually increases during early hours. It is an award winning light made for 'GiForm 2007'(a design competition in Norway).
Charles Trevelyan: Inspired by the 'Titanic' movie and the concept of sinking below the surface.  The leaning lamp creates an illusion and throws a wash of light in any interior.
 Thyra Hilden & Pio Diaz: A chandler that takes you into the forest. The shadows engulf the room and transform the walls into unruly shadows of branches, bushes and gnarled trees.

Guillaume Apollinaire He used poetry as a way of escapism during the war. His poems were effective due to his typeface and spacial arrangement which worked to create an image. In this sense the visuals could be considered to be just as important as the text. His style was something I intended to incorporate in my own work; a typeface to add meaning to a composition. FASHION :Reflective Research/ museum visit

Prior to starting my wearable art project I decided to carry out some research, as this would enable me to build knowledge and equip myself with the information needed to make informed decisions when creating my final piece. As part of my research I decided to visit the Museum of London, located on London Wall. This enabled me to establish traditional clothing from prehistoric times, which I could then compare to modern fashion. FMP: Week Four

By the fourth week I had completed a few initial sketches and experimentations. However, I felt that I didn't have enough content knowledge in classical architecture and features that art museums include within their designs. Therefore, I went back to do some further research into classical architecture  which takes elements from Roman and Greek architecture, more so Marcus Vitruvius Pollio who is an iconic architect and engineer from Rome, he developed a distinctive style and philosophy which is called "perfect proportion" and his designs were dramatically innovative with a sense of classical order which could potentially inform my design. His work reflects a spirit of his time, enabling him to create a new direction in architecture and challenge traditional conceptions of buildings.
